    Waves Weekly - Sunday May 31 2026

    Happy Sunday Waves!

This one is a long one. Sorry not sorry. Please read it.

    Battle of the Waves/z

We won! 727 to 650! And it was competitive which is a good thing. It was a fun outing yesterday and it seemed like everything went smoothly. Thanks to the Wavez for hosting us and for United Airlines for providing the perfectly timed flyover at the conclusion of the national anthem.

    Summer Practice Schedule Begins

It's summer time. That means morning practices. Check out the schedule here!

    This Weekend

This is a swim-heavy weekend! We got two events.

First is the last dual home meet against Eagle Springs. It's another mega-team so we can expect a bit of a slower meet just simply due to the total amount of swimmers. Also, if you didn't notice, we have entered the "why the heck do we live here" phase of Texas summer. Hydration and preparation for handling the heat starts midweek with everyone getting lots of fluids and electrolytes. Anyway, home meet so that means a summer pep rally schedule fun friday starts at 9:00 AM on Friday after practice and regular times for everything else on Saturday. If you need to change volunteer plans, get that done early in the week.

We also have the BTA Summer Champs meet on Sunday where we are the returning champions for our division. It's at Kingwood High School so that means indoor setup (AC and wifi yay) and no volunteer requirements unless you are also a BTA parent.

Registration is closed for this event and late additions will not be allowed. Individual events are $7 each. We will be reaching out to all registered to obtain payment. The team is paying for the relays. Questions? Read the announcement

    Swim-a-thon Update

We are almost there! Thanks to all of you who have gotten your donations in. We are up to $7,200. Come on people! Our goal is $10,000 this year! Our swim-a-thon is dedicated to a cause deeply rooted in the heart of our swim family. We are coming together to swim in loving memory of Haley Burns, a devoted swim mom, wife, and daughter who recently lost her heroic battle with appendix cancer. The proceeds are going to a very special charity so let's make sure we are all doing our parts in raising money.

Everyone should have gotten a personalized email with a swimmer-specific landing page for sharing on your social media. Go share it! It takes like 5 minutes to copy and paste so just do it! The main page is at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/2026fmkpwaves and the swimmer's specific donation page can be found by using the "Search for participant" text field.

The event will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd during normal practice times, featuring music and treats as our swimmers dive in to complete as many laps as they can. Cheating implements such as fins and kickboards are welcome and encouraged! Winners for top 3 most money raised and top 3 most laps will get Sonic gift cards! The tiebreaker for most money raised is laps! Let's get this accomplished!

    Invitationals

We have chosen to participate in Trinity and Ponderosa for the invitationals this year. More information coming for these.

    Attached Meet Maestro Report

See the attached meet maestro report from this weekend's outing. Here's a summary of what the tags means in the report. Sorry, this is a lot. Please read carefully.

PI26 & PB26 (Ponderosa): PI26 stands for Ponderosa Invitational 2026 (the standard elite qualifying time). PB26 stands for Ponderosa Bonus 2026 (a secondary or bonus cut allowing entry if they've met other criteria).

CHMP (Summer Champs): CHMP stands for the basic Championship qualifying time standard for that meet.

PICO & TRIN (Trinity Summer Classic): TRIN stands for the primary Trinity qualifying cut. PICO typically indicates a specific subset tier, consolation, or bonus standard recognized by the Trinity host team (often associated with Ponderosa-level constraints, as swimmers with Ponderosa times are restricted from certain Trinity events).

Have a great week and we will see everyone for Swim a Thon on Weds!

    Go Waves!
