Waves Weekly - Sunday May 10 2026
Happy Sunday Waves and Happy Mothers Day!
We had a great meet at Fall Creek on Saturday. Although the overall score did not wind up in our favor, everyone did a wonderful job putting together a great meet.
We did have an incident this week during the meet between a couple of our swimmers. A reminder to all parents to have the discussion with their swimmers that hitting, kicking, unwanted touching or bullying of any sort will not be tolerated at any Waves events. We want the Waves environment to be fun and safe for all swimmers and means we all need to act accordingly. If you children require supervision, then you need to be present in the tent with them.
Home meet this week against the Summerwood Stingrays
This week, we will be hosting the Summerwood Stingrays. Summer is back so I want to remind everyone to stay hydrated for the meet and hydrating actually starts a few days prior! Don't just think you can chug a bunch of water Saturday morning and be ok. Hydrate all week. You also need bug spray and sunscreen. There will be a full concession setup for the meet with burgers cooked on our new fancy Blackstones! Watch for emails to get your swimmer signed up for the events.
We are having a pep rally on Friday from 6:00p to 7:30p (icepops and music and cheers) and all practices will be following the Pep Rally Revised Practice Schedule located at https://fmkp-waves.swimtopia.com/practice-schedul...
Second Half Volunteer Shift Signups
Signups open on Monday, May 11 at 6:30 PM SHARP! This will open the rest of the meets and all other events for the year for you to get signed up for the rest of your volunteer shifts. Remember every family needs 6 shifts. I highly encourage that if you have special circumstances that require you to get signed up for particular roles or events, be at your laptop and ready right at 6:30 PM. Also, we have a roster of volunteer substitutes who can work your shifts for you in exchange for compensation. If you are interested or need a sub to cover a shift for you, reach out to Courtney at [email protected] to get that coordinated.
Stroke Clinics this Week
The coaches will offer stroke clinics for Fly and Breast this week to help with some of our DQs! Mon/Weds is Fly, and Tue/Thu is Breast. If you’re interested it will be every day (except Friday) right after the last practice, so the clinic will be 7:30-8. We charge $20 per swimmer. Cash or Zelle. Just be there by 7:30 if you want to participate.
That’s it for this week. As always, if you have any feedback for us, email me at [email protected]. Everyone have a great week!
Moms rock! Go Waves! 🌊
